Pomeranian coat recovery

The discipline Carmen teaches at seminars across Spain. The same protocol that has restored the splendour of hundreds of Pomeranians.

The Pomeranian double coat

A coat unlike any other

The Pomeranian wears a double coat: a dense, insulating undercoat beneath a longer layer of protective guard hair. Together they regulate temperature, repel moisture and give the breed its signature silhouette. It is also delicate — its beauty depends entirely on the health of the skin beneath it.

When that balance is disturbed — by climate, diet, hormones, stress or the wrong grooming — the coat is the first to show it: dullness, thinning, or a patchy regrowth that never quite returns. Reading those signals correctly is where recovery begins.

The risk of cutting a double coat too short

The "Boo" cut on a Pomeranian is one of the most common — and most damaging — mistakes. The double coat does not simply grow back on command. It can trigger what is known as post-clipping alopecia: slow, patchy or altered regrowth, where the soft undercoat returns but the protective guard hairs do not.

The result is a coat that looks dry and fragile, loses its natural protection and can take many months — sometimes never — to recover, if it fully recovers at all. Our philosophy is the opposite: we protect the coat's architecture and work with it, never against it.

Our recovery approach

Skin-first, coat-forward

Recovery is never a single treatment — it is a dermo-cosmetic process built around your dog's skin. We assess, we care for the coat with technology chosen for it, and we tailor everything to what we find. We support the coat's return; we never promise a medical cure — for that, we work alongside veterinarians.

Skin & coat assessment

We begin by reading the skin: condition, hydration, coat density and the pattern of regrowth. Every plan starts from what we actually see, not a fixed formula.

Ozone shower

A gentle ozone shower helps cleanse and rebalance skin and coat without harsh stripping — calming the surface so healthy hair has the best conditions to return.

Ozone shower & gentle care

Deep yet gentle cleansing with our ozone shower, alongside targeted dermo-cosmetic care, supports skin comfort and general wellbeing as part of a wider, unhurried recovery.

A tailored plan

We combine the right rhythm of care, technique and at-home guidance into a plan made for your dog — reviewed and adjusted as the coat responds over time.
